LET THEM LEAD ME; LET THEM BRING ME TO YOUR HOLY MOUNTAIN.

This psalm is very short but it highlights what goes on the heart of a believer who’s heart is set apart to please God and to do His work.

Have you ever been in a place where you feel like your back is up against a wall? Perhaps  constantly surrounded by unbelieving and blasphemous people? Then you can relate to the psalmist. When our desire is for God and to see His will be done on earth as it is in heaven life will feel at times like a bed of nails, persecution from the world can isolate a person and here he is looking for God’s attention by asking Him a question:

 - verse 2:

-Why have you forsaken me?

It is a plea for help but a plea not of desperation but one done in full faith and trust in God’s unfailing wisdom,

  - verse 3:

- Send me your light and your faithful care, let THEM lead me; let THEM lead me to your holy mountain, to the place where you dwell.

The psalmist knows, and this I love most and what stood out for me because it is in submission to God and faith in the full assurance of his Saviour’s hand that these troublesome times will lead him straight to the Mercy Seat and the Victory Seat of God!

Knowing God in victories won is to learn how to trust Him in difficult times and theses trials lead us straight to Him in a deeper way, more personal and real, by knowing He will rescue us by remembering times before is a good way to apply ourselves when fear enters in, remembering His Saving hand will cause us to expect it every time…

The psalmist knows ends by the psalmist challenging himself, why are you downcast? Put your hope in Him.

Amen.
